ABOUT
Mariah grew up dancing in Sonoma County. She began training in Ballet at her parent’s studio, Ballet Califia and later expanded to other styles of dance including: modern, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, jazz funk and heels.
Growing up she was very immersed in the dance community in Sonoma County. She won scholarships each year that she participated in the Sonoma County Dance Guild’s Helene Chochrane Scholarship Auditions—3rd place in the Freshman Division, 1st place in the Junior Division and 1st place in the Senior Division. She received scholarships to attend Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Program, as well as their Choreographic Intensive.
She performed with Ballet Califia’s company, competed with The Dance Center’s “Gravity” Modern Company under Rebekah Green, danced and choreographed with SRHS ArtQuest Dance Company, and performed and choreographed with SRJC’s Dance Ensemble and Dance Production. She was a part of Hip Hop crews: Secret Society led by Michael Harris and SRJC’s Mayhem led by Chris Medina, and she even started her own modern company that she competed and performed with. In addition, she was a guest performer at the North Bay Dance Festival, and the Northwave Dance Festival.
After leaving Sonoma County, Mariah trained extensively in Los Angeles—at Edge Performing Arts Center, The Playground LA, TMilly, Eighty-Eight and Millenium. She had the honor of being accepted to the Cameron Lee Mentorship—a professional level industry dance program where she was trained by the best in the dance industry.
Mariah has now decided to return to her roots, to share the knowledge and experience she has gained with our future generations of dancers!
